John Nemeth

John Nemeth is a young fella doing the blues with as much class and style as the old boys. Not only does he play a mean harp (think Little Walter), he really sings his heart out, too. Killer backing band, as well.

I really dug his last album "Magic Touch" and his much-anticipated new one, "Love Me Tonight" (http://www.blindpigrecords.com/5for50/index.cfm?action=show&catalognum=BPCD5127), comes out Tues 27 Jan.

hehe. i went to this last year, completely based on that! although, i wasn't impressed with the music, it was still fun and all. it was like a mini-fest in this little park on the water.

Saw Nemeth again on Saturday night up in San Jose. Sweet tone and great range; I wish I could swing so sweet! :p

Listened to the new album on my drive home late last nite. Also picked up a couple disks from his back catalog so I've got new music to listen to for awhile now :) Yay!

The album was recorded up in the area and over the weekend, the San Jose Mercury News ran a nice feature (http://tinyurl.com/bgnyej) and in-studio session with Mr. Nemeth that I thought I'd share.
