this is what I'm getting off on this morn'.
I checked them out because giant panda guerilla dub squad is opening for them next month.

The New Mastersounds are a four-piece band based in Leeds, England, whose modern take on vintage soul-jazz, funk and rock draws influences from Jimmies McGriff, Smith and Hendrix, as well as their most closely associated mentors, the Meters

I downloaded this show, the first song is wickedly hornful, love it.

The New Mastersound are the one band I have been into more than any other for the past 4-6 months. Just straight up fantastic true-blue fukkin' FUNK.

Good work Sway!

I have Plug & Play (2009), 102% (07), This is What We Do (05), and Live at La Cova (06). 33 is on 102%, Be Yourself is on Be Yourself, an older album I haven't gotten around to.

Plug & Play is the newest and has a singer w/them named Dionne Charles, but I think 102% is my fav of those. I'd start w/ those two, but they are all great. Need to pick up Be Yourself soon. Love this stuff!
