Good pub, i suppose. However, I can imagine everyone who attends mraz f/ g. love and those who haven't heard of g. love will call GLASS a mraz wannabe. Pffft.

booooooo!!! can we say bad tour choice!! i will not be seeing the g man on that tour. i will see the shows in jacksonville oregon and chicago with michael franti and spearhead. should have kept that deal going. would have liked to seen him jump on the dazed and confused tour , cicizen cope , 311 or something not as kiddie pop. how about the jonas brothers next year. not happy with that choice.

seems to be a whole lotta jumping to conclusions in here. i'd say mraz is a very talented musician, although maybe not a style everyone here is going to enjoy. and why the hell wouldn't you tour with some one who will get you more exposure to an audience that might very well dig what you do.

Suffice it to say this was not the original plan and due to circumstances beyond their control, the plan changed. IMO they are fortunate to be connecting with anybody on such short notice after basically having the rug pulled out from under them and hopefully they will make the best of the situation.

Couldn't they have just done a tour without being a supporting act like they have done the majority of the last 15+ years? Even if they had the rug as a supporting act pulled from underneath them, that seems like an option. I will admit, however, I have never been in a band and have no idea how touring works.

i would like to know , what was the plan? i see he is playing with michael franti in chicago and jacksonville. then going on tour with opening for jason mraz. then opening for dmb. since you know, fill us in.

In the end my friend it doesn't really matter. The fact is, over the past few years they have been a co-bill (not support) on the summer tours playing these type of sheds and that would have been the same plan for this summer. It went bad and my guess is the choices were either do what they are doin' or do another nightclub tour which they tend to do many other months of the year. If you look at their schedule, they got a few other things goin' on this spring/summer and this fits, so they went for it. It could be worse imo.

okay, I cannot sit through any of j. mraz's albums. HOWEVER, he does put on a really swell show. I have intentionally seen him three times after a pleasant surprise with the first and have no complaints whatsoever. always great energy. so, don't hang your hats up just yet...

Rarr, meowww, hiss! Whoa, play nice you guys!!! :p

Fact is, it's a summer tour and many of us sit those out cuz we like the smaller venues anyways -- less expensive, more intimate, whatever. Catch them at a fest if you can and you'll be able to see them headlining again next fall/winter.

I had the same initial "whoa, this seems like a step BACK for them!" feeling, but you've got to put things in perspective. With G sitting out for part of the year with a surgery and the not-so-great album release (or is that just my opinion) and Jim leaving the band, it's been an off year. Apparently some other stuff went on with the gig booking, too.
All in all, it might seem like crap to have them be supporting someone else, but they are obvious road veterans and warriors...and you could do alot worse than opening for Mraz & DMB as far as $ and crowd and summer party fun.

I am hoping to see him again at the Detroit show. I honestly don't mind who G. Love tours with, as long as I get to see the band I came to listen to :)
And that would be.... G. Love!

I remember living in Austin, Texas and cruising around with my old roomy jamming out to G. Love... ohhhh 1994! That album helped me a lot and still does. Now I just have the memories. Making more memories and still listening to G.Love after all these years. Now I feel old... eep!

I believe I read K'naan is playing ct and jones beach ny also, Sway. I don't love those larger venues howevah (and seats at JB up front are out of control expensive) but a casino and/or water views are a plus. I think I'll hold out for something else... I do wish there was a Central Park option.

Welcome to you, Sandoz.

To those that trash G. Love's choice to do the Mraz tour (and insult those of us who love him): I had never heard of G. Love before attending the concert this past weekend at the Hollywood Bowl, and I was immediately hooked and am happy to now count myself as one of his fans.
