Sorry for the double post btw.
I have a question for the band/management.
How come you guys haven't given permission to have the bands live shows to be stored in the internet archive? You guys allow trading anyway so it only makes sense to allow storing, it makes itmore convienent for us trades to have access to the music. Also it makes your music more accessable to the masses.
Anyway, it says that they are waiting to hear back from you guys in order to allow storing of live shows from the band. Jack Johnson is on there with quite a bit of shows, why not the Sauce? There are so many people that would contribute to the archive if allowed to.
Heres what they have to say about the status of GLASS and the archive:

Mike,
I recently sent a message with that same question, here's the reply I received: (the link they are refering to is the same one that you posted above)
"We have no problem with people trading any taped shows. There is only a problem when those people are trying to make a profit from what is intended to be free.
I will check into the link and find out what needs to be done to make GLASS a trade friendly band.
Thanks for your note
Philadelphonic"

Hope this helps, I cut the following from this part of the site:
http://www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#100
I'm an artist who would like to be included in the Archive, what do I need to do?
We'd love to have you! Just write to us at etree@archive.org (etree@archive) giving some kind of permission for us to archive your shows for public download and noncommercial, royalty-free circulation. It does not need to be a formally worded declaration, and can come from anyone you feel has the "say-so." We just need to be clear on how you feel about the project. We will put relevant quotes in our Band Information section, along with a link to your official website.
You can give as much or as little scope for archiving as you like. Some bands place limits on what can be hosted, and we can accomodate those. Archive Curators, volunteer fans who have proven to be in line with the spirit of this archive, will attempt to screen contributions for OK'ed material only.
At the same time you give the go-ahead, feel free to pass along any notes or policy links on your general taping/trading stance as well. You don't need to have a formal written or posted policy before inclusion, but we'd like to know how you feel about the topic.
Besides fans' sending their copies of your shows, you can also prepare and upload your own live recordings to the Archive, if you like. In fact, if you'd like to limit your material to selected contributions from you only, please just let us know.
If you have any questions about the project, please ask us anytime at etree@archive.org.

G. Love, Live Music Archive a go!
Thanks to the kind folks of Philadelphonic for the OK, I'm pleased to
say we've activated the pending section for the band there!
http://archive.org/audio/etree.php
Folks, here are some tips on what to do to send stuff to the archive:
show prep:
http://wiki.etree.org/index.php?page=SeedingGuidelines
http://wiki.etree.org/index.php?page=NamingStandards
upload steps:
http://webdev.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=1711
Also, make sure the top directory (at least) for the show is named with the prefix glove, like glove2003-12-05.shnf
Using the prefix glass will try to put your show into the wrong band section (because there is another band named "Glass").
Have fun with it! :)
A browsable show section for G Love will magically appear as soon as there is a show successfully in place.

WooHaa...yes I am dancing right now
Thank you!! Just to add to that too, if your files are named "glass" they will need to be changed and the MD5's updated. Please corect me if I am wrong. Thanks, Brian

Edit: Listen to brian and his purple people ass slapper icon! "he knows what he's talking about" (ala bill and ted's excellent adventure).
Yes, change the top directory and the file names to the prefix that the Live Music Archive will recognize for G love and Special sauce:
glove
Remember! The archive will think you are importing a show by the band "Glass" (like what you drink out of) NOT G love if you leave the file prefix as 'glass'. Change your top folder, file prefixes AND md5 files to reflect this. To edit your md5 file, just right click it, choose 'edit' and then change how the file is listed in there to match how the file name truely is.
Upload some nugz! i've been trying to get G love Added to the archive for probably 8 months now. glad we finally got through!Edited by: Tyler

I see what you are saying, but check out this post:
Internet Archive - Forum (http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=8943)
Besides that, why would you want your individual files named different than the Top Level Directory? Wouldn't this potentially cause issues in the long run? And big thanks to dianahamilton for the update and all the help you have provided on other forums (forums.etree.org), It's nice to see you around these parts too.

Yeah, that is true! What a dumb ass I am. And to top it off, I'm actually an administrator at the Live Music Archive. :) And yes, Diana deserves much props! Over the last year and a half she has brought in a crap load of bands to the archive. Let's get some more!
If you are in a band or know of a band that shows of aren't hosted currently on the Live Music Archive (the full list of who has said OK is here: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-band-showall.phpget them on it! e-mail their name, manager contact info, website, taping stance, anything to us at:
etree@archive.org
and we'll get on it. or get on it yourself and CC the etree@archive.org list so we know what is up with that band. The more bands, the more free live music is circulating the internet!
