My computer is freaking jacked up. Seriously. Pop-ups non-stop, new icons on my desk top all the time, super slow - and I have a cable modem. It takes me like 20 minutes to get online sometimes with all the pop-ups and BS going on. This has been going on for only the past few months, but It seems like it is getting worse.


I have downloaded Google pop-up blocker, some others, nothing seems towork. It is like this thing is alive all the time and there is some freaking ghost at the keyboard, and so slow.


Any tips, advice, info would be appreciated. Thanks Fam, my forum future is at stake.

Mr. Clean it looks like you need to do some cleaning. Do a search for adware or spyware and dowload a program to clean some of that crap off your computer.... That should do it!

Open your internet explorer or whatever you use


Go to tools and then internet options.


Then delete all the cookies and temp files.


Maybe that will help. If not your problem is beyond me.

do a goole search on a program called "adaware" that takes spam off your comp faaast

Do you run a virus scanner of any sort?


I ask because you mention a "ghost at the keyboard". Your computer might very well be sick.Edited by: NatasCub

http://www.lavasoft.de<- adaware - this will help remove some spyware


http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html<- spybot seek and destroy - this will remove whatever adaware misses

Spybot is the best, check out www.tucows.com for helpful downloads. A lot of those pop up blockers actually contain adware and spyware. You also get a lot of junk if you use Kazaa, toolbars, or click on offers for "Free Stuff".
